My service has just started, the first application they were here when they said that they would be, that’s a good start. My lawn doesn’t look too bad but up close it needs a lot of help, TruGreen is going to have there hands full .
Deonte arrived at about 8:00am and discussed the problem in my yard. He quickly determined that I had chinch bugs and described the weather patterns that helped create the problem. He also stated that TruGreen was treating a lot of lawns for the bugs. He thoroughly applied an insecticide to all of the infected areas and stated that on my next visit it would be applied to the entire yard. Very professional young man. He gets the highest rating from me. Thank you Deonte.
I can’t even begin to describe how much damage this company has done to a two year old re sod done at our Savannah house. We had the entire yard landscaped with new sod, irrigation, along with shrubs. I fired them after watching the employees on our cameras show up and sometimes not do anything. The last straw was a shrub treatment where the guy walked into the backyard and back out, without touching anything. However, after paying the guy who installed the landscaping to come out and see what was wrong with the grass, he asked me to find out what, and when, the last treatment was done to the grass. I am posting pictures of before and after they destroyed!!! The green lawn was this past summer into fall. The dead was taken today after a treatment done by TruGreen on 3/21. The yard was over-treated and had three different chemicals applied. This is going to cost thousands to correct! If you read this and still decide to use them for lawn care, it’s a bad decision.
I had my first treatment with TrueGreen. My treatment specialist, Derrick, was very professional, very knowledgeable, and very service oriented. He paid detailed attention to my lawn and treated my lawn like it was his lawn. He took the care to explain treatments and what I should do to ensure the treatments were effective. I am very satisfied with the treatment process. I hope the results are just as positive.
We started service with TrueGreen in Feb of 2025. To say it plainly, they failed to live up to their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. The initial treatment did not include weed killer, meaning the grass and weeds started the growing season in direct competition. It took multiple inquiries to get this addressed. At that point the inconsistent schedule (every 6-8 versus 4-6 weeks) of treatment led a a lawn with little to no change. In fact one of our side yards is mostly weeds. When they finally did the aeration, it happened in a dry spell meaning little to no plugs pulled. Over $200 spent for little to no results. Good luck getting a hold of someone at the local office. The local number goes right to corporate and you have e to wait through menu options and operators. When we finally had enough and tried to enact the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, the service manager promised they would come and do a reassessment and retreat. This. Never. Happened. We ended up having to follow-up again. The representative tried to blame the weather and us for the lack of results, never accepting any responsibility for their failure to show up. We were again promised someone in management would call us. Again, never happened and instead were refunded the cost of one treatment. It’s cheaper to do it yourself or if you cannot, find a local company that cares about customers and their reputation. This is not an issue with the employees doing the services. It is unequivocally a problem with management. The only thing that is 100% about TrueGreen is my dissatisfaction.
I do not recommend TruGreen of Savannah. As a retired veteran, I had used TruGreen in Athens, Alabama, a decade, with good results. My experiences during the last six months have been less than suitable or helpful. During this period I was trying to restore a public common area of approximately 1150 square feet. The area needed treatment for weeds, fertilizer, aeration, and the replanting of grass seed. Unfortunately, I found it nearly impossible to work with TruGreen. TruGreen has these implacable challenges: 1-You can only talk to a national sales representative. It is nearly impossible to schedule service or request assistance from the local office. The local technicians were, however, considerate and helpful. 2-Requested services were not performed. I tried to have an aeration performed for six months to no avail. I even scheduled it twice after TruGreen billed me for an aeration, to no avail. In terms full disclosure, I was refunded for the billed aeration after contacting the service manager. 3-Website Disfunction. It is nearly impossible to delete payment information or make changes on the actual website. 4-When concerns are expressed to the local office, limited and faulty responses are offered. In fact, the service manager’s phone was not in service when I tried to contact him. 5-Services, when provided, are ineffectual. After nearly six months of weed abatement treatments, I now have more weeds than I did before the treatments (see photo). No aeration was ever attempted or completed, and this office does not even plant grass for customers in need. Sincerely, Rev. Lee Cheek
