We completed a landscaping project with Twelve Oaks Landscaping in June 2021and paid more than $22,000 to plant a number of plants: magnolias, arborvitae, hollies, a maple, tea olives, and camellias. We experienced a myriad of issues, the most significant of which was that the camellias were infected with scale insects at the time they arrived. I objected to this and the owner promised me that the plants were guaranteed and that he would treat the scale once they had been installed; of course, 10 months later after many, many treatments we have paid for personally, the camellias look like absolute trash (everything else is thriving) and he is refuses to so much as look at them. At this point he has stopped responding to all emails and requests from the BBB. It is clear that the "guarantee" was a lie. Candidly, I should have seen this coming as we experienced a number of outright lies in the course of this project; it was sold as "I will have my guys hand-dig it" and I looked out the window while they were planting to find that they had cut my fence to drive a digger through my garden. The plants were almost all shorter than the agreed upon height for the price. To top it off, he attempted to charge an exorbitant price for pinestraw that had not been included on the estimate without asking if we wanted it; his crew was spreading it at random around our property, which I thought was a nice way to finish the project until I realized that he was basically washing my windshield in traffic and then demanding to be paid! Basically, I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. The owner is a disaster. I cannot imagine why he would be so unresponsive in this instance - maybe he is experiencing financial difficulty as a result of poor business management? I just wish we hadn't gotten caught in the cross-hairs.
