DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are nothing but a bunch of salesmen who do not respond to your emails when there is an issue and then blame it on you saying "it was on the quote". Well guess what, they messed up the quote. Then, they will send a collection agency for you if you don't pay their bill. This company, specifically Todd Ash, trimmed the wrong trees then tried to blame me on it. They didn't even do their job as they stated would. They were supposed to trim the vines that were growing but they did not and invoiced me anyways for it. Funny thing is Todd Ash asked my contractor if he could trim the roots of the vines! This company was trimming the trees and when I came home, I saw they were cutting the wrong tree. I told them this tree is the wrong tree and that the ones closes to the house was the one they were supposed to cut. The workers, all Hispanic and probably afraid of Todd, said they couldn't do anything about it. I called Todd and got in argument with him about it. All he stated was that is what is on the quote. We had reworked the quote to fit my budget. The original quote was to trim 4 trees but once I couldn't get the overprice trimming down, we decided to only trim the trees closest to my house that were hanging over it. He knew this was my biggest concern but they trimmed the wrong tree instead. I get the invoice which I emailed Gunnison a long and detailed message with photos, quotes, revised quotes, and invoices to which they didn't even bother to respond. I stated that I was originally quote $690 to trim two trees, then when I asked to trim 4 trees the price went to $2,970. There was no explanation for this. They charged me for 2 days of road closure of $4,000 but the road was only closed for one day. I asked for a credit back for this to be applied to my invoice. I never got a response from this company, now they sent the invoice, for services they didn't complete, to a collection agency and now I have some ligation company hounding me. So I'm going to be forced to pay for services that weren't performed that was overpriced in the first place. Here are photos of the roots/vines that they were supposed to cut, which is on the invoice they select to the collection agency. Sad thing is this company knows they have the money and lawyers to fight homeowners. SUCH BS. STAY AWAY
After crews took tree branches from city property and the street and placed them on my property, gunnison refused to reimburse me for cleanup I had to pay for. They dumped debris on my property and unfortunately took no responsibility, despite their response to a prior review that they would like to help. Poor service all around. 100% would never recommend their services.
They seemed like such a polished, professional company at first. Will, our arborist (salesman?) came out and really validated and seemed to understand our needs. I've never been so wrong about a company. First, there was little communication from them when rain was forecasted. This forced us to call THEM to reschedule twice. (How come their scheduling coordinators aren't more proactive? They even seemed put off when we called to ask they please reschedule given the weather...?) Secondly, when they finally did come out, Will was not on site as he'd promised. During this initial site visit, they were only able to finish part of the job due to rain. (This was in July.) We understood and agreed to reschedule so they could finish up once everything was more dry. When Gunnison arrived for a second time, Will was again not present. Our new "arborist" immediately told us they would need to reschedule yet again because the ground was too wet for them to finish the job. We agreed with him, in part. "Can you all at least fell the trees? No need to chip everything and drag the chipper through the yard. We were just hoping the 4 trees could at least come down today." I guess they weren't listening, didn't understand, or didn't care? Because they responded by telling us we didn't know what was best FOR OUR OWN PROPERTY and that rescheduling for a fourth time was our only option. I had to argue for them to just fell the trees, no chipping at all. (Since they said coming back to chip at a later date was just "way to costly for their operation.") Not only was this pivot seemingly impossible for them, they were so condescending throughout the entire disagreement I actually started to cry. I hope others do not have the kind of experience we had, though it looks like a trend is starting up based on these reviews. We told them we wanted to keep all of the material. They were condescending and said it was too much for us to handle. We told them to cut the logs into manageable sizes of 2 - 3'. They left huge pieces, 1 over 18' long. (I've included a picture of me cutting up these pieces since they didn't.) We told them to be careful. They didn't mind their work so an 8' piece got stuck upright in our yard (pictured). We asked them to PLEASE be careful. They left trash in our yard: water bottles, candy wrappers, food wrappers, etc. Maybe it's the new leadership? Regardless, some real change is needed at Gunnison. I've never felt so exhausted after a site visit.
Extremely satisfied with the service provided by Gunnison Tree, from the office staff coordinating the three different crews sent out to remove our three huge dead oak trees, to the finally clean up. We have had other tree companies before and never have I had a more professional, courteous and accommodating work crew. Hats off to GTS for having such great employees!
This company showed up at my house at 730 am last Thursday to move trees off a neighbor's property, they have access rights on an easement on my property. However, they do not send their crew with a key, so he drives his tractor off the easement and through my yard and landscaping. Did not knock and ask permission. Then, Taylor dumps a load of trees on my yard in front of the easement gate. Tells me they will pick up the trees that day and fix the damage. No word for five days and no one returned my call. Buyer beware. Update: trees were removed 7 days later. No word on if they are going to fix my yard from the damage their trespassing caused.
Gunnison showed up with no warning to cut back a tree on our property from power lines. They made ragged, inconsistent cuts on a crepe myrtle, far further back than necessary on some branches, leaving it looking butchered. There was no evidence they were taking precautions to prevent cross contamination by cleaning their tools between properties. They stomped through the yard with no respect to flowers coming up. They let heavy pecan branches fall on the power line to our house. They threw cigarette butts in the street. At least they made a half-hearted attempt to blow the sawdust further down the street.
